PlugPlug taps are the most common tap, having less tapered threads than a taper tap. Typically the first tap to be used in a drilled hole. |
BottomBottom taps feature very few tapered threads and are the only tap that can cut threads to the bottom of a hole. Typically used following the use of a taper or plug tap. |
TaperTapered taps have a number of tapered threads that help to gradually cut threads. Less aggresive than a plug or bottom tap which can be helpful when working with difficult materials or smaller sizes. |
